An alleged brazen Northern Rivers crook nabbed after warrants were issued for his arrest will front court on charges including break-and-enter, driving a stolen car and an AVO breach.
Dylan Grant, 27, is expected to face Tweed Heads Local Court later on Wednesday, charged with more than 20 offences following an extensive police investigation at Murwillumbah in the Tweed Shire.
In early April 2024, Tweed-Byron Police and the Far North Highway Patrol Command launched an investigation into incidents they believe were all linked to Grant, it’s stated.
Police investigated chases, a break-in, affray and stealing, among other incidents.
During the investigation, two warrants were issued for Grant’s arrest.
Following “extensive inquiries” and an appeal to the community for information, Grant was located by police at a unit on Church Lane, Murwillumbah about 5pm on Tuesday.
Grant was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station following an alleged footchase and two arrest warrants were executed.
He has been charged with:
– Seven counts of driving with an expired license within the last two years.
– Three counts of driving a stolen car.
– Two counts of entering into a police pursuit and driving dangerously.
– Two counts of receiving etc property stolen outside NSW.
– Two counts of failing to wear a seatbelt properly.
– Break-and-enter to steal.
– Failing to appear in accordance with bail
– Contravene apprehended violence order (AVO)’
– Affray.
– Using a class A vehicle with an unauthorised number plate affixed
Grant was refused bail to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on Wednesday.
