A man has been charged after police raided a home and discovered photos of him and a toddler holding guns, in another win for the new task force cracking down on gun related crime.

A man has been charged after police raided a home and discovered photos of him and a toddler holding guns, in another win for the new task force cracking down on gun related crime.
As Task Force Magnus investigated the recent underworld-linked fatal shooting of 24-year-old Marvin Oraiha in Elizabeth Hills, they found images of a man posing and holding two pistols in the company of a young child, who was also holding a third glock-style pistol.
Police executed searches in homes across Roselands, Edensor Park, Green Valley, Yagoona, Liverpool, Merrylands and Guildford on July 12 where they not only found the images but also uncovered a ballistic vest, ammunition, and six mobile phones.
They also located a 22-year-old man who they arrested at the scene.
It’s alleged the photos of were taken on May 21, 2023.
Following enquiries, strike force detectives in assistance with Raptor Squad executed a search warrant this morning at 6am at a home in Yagoona, where they arrested the 21-year-old man posing in the photograph and took him to Bankstown Police Station on 13 charges.
The man was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today on charges that include four counts of possessing unauthorised pistols and two counts of not keep firearm safely-pistol.
The 21-year-old’s arrest under Strike Force Hackenburg is part of Task Force Magnus, which was established to target the recent string of shootings.
Investigations under Strike Force Hackenburg and Task Force Magnus continue.
