A second teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with a violent brawl involving about 30 people at Manly Wharf on Sydney’s northern beaches last week.
Days after an 18-year-old man was arrested at Bonnyrigg in relation to the incident, officers took a 15-year-old boy in custody at Manly Police Station on Monday.
Police charged the boy with riot, affray and two counts of common assault before granting him bail to face a children’s court early next month.
The brawl unfolded on January 6, when officers responded to reports of a fight at Manly Wharf on The Esplanade just after 9pm.
The group quickly dispersed and witnesses told police several people had attacked a teenage boy, who remains unidentified, on the roadway.
Some of them also alleged they had been assaulted while trying to intervene.
Footage obtained by Manly Observer showed chaotic scenes in the aftermath of the incident.
As part of Strike Force Crookhaven, established to investigate the incident, police reviewed CCTV footage and appealed for public assistance last week.
The 18-year-old man, arrested last Friday, faces charges of riot and affray.
He has been granted bail to face Manly Local Court later this month.
