Pedestrian dies days after Dubbo crash

A woman has died days after she was hit by a car at a busy intersection in the state’s west.

A pedestrian has died in hospital days after she was hit by a car in the state’s central west.

The 42-year-old woman was hit at the intersection of Whylandra St and Victoria St in Dubbo about 5:30pm on December 5.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene before she was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital in a critical condition.

She was later transferred to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.

Police have been informed the woman succumbed to her injuries and died on Sunday.

The driver of the vehicle – a 37-year-old man – was uninjured and taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation into the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
