An aspiring model is accused of clocking her ex with a lamp at a ritzy Sydney eatery weeks after he was charged with choking her.
Natalie Marangos faced Downing Centre Local Court for the first time in the wake of an alleged incident at exclusive Double Bay eatery, where she was accused of lashing out at Dean Contos with a glass lamp as he dined with another woman.
It comes as Contos, 36, will face the same court on Thursday charged with intentional choking, intimidation, and two counts of contravening an apprehended violence order for Marangos’ protection in 2024.
“Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and were told a 34-year-old woman allegedly threw a lamp at a man known to her,” police said in a statement.
“The man sustained injuries to his face. The woman left the scene prior to the arrival of police.”
Marangos was charged the following night after being arrested at a Hurstville Grove address.
At court, solicitor Kiki Kyriacou told Magistrate Jennifer Atkinson CCTV from the restaurant was being sought before the case progressed.
The court heard material related to the other matter, in which Contos has been charged with choking and intimidating Marangos, would also be sought.
The possibility of dealing with Marangos’ matters under mental health legislation will also be contemplated before the next court date.
Her matter was adjourned until April.
Separately, Contos’ matter is listed for charge certification on Thursday, where the charges that may proceed on indictment in the NSW District Court will be confirmed.
