The new boyfriend of slain Newcastle mum Mackenzie Anderson has broken his silence to post several heartfelt tributes to her on social media.
Ms Anderson, 21, died a week ago after being stabbed at her Mayfield apartment.
Her ex-partner Tyrone Thompson has been charged with murder.
Following an outpouring of grief and support for the young mum online, her new partner Lochie Bevo took to social media himself to share tributes in her memory.
Ms Anderson and Mr Bevo — according to an earlier video on Ms Anderson’s TikTok account — got together after being forced into Covid isolation in December.
And on Thursday night and Friday morning, Mr Bevo took to TikTok himself to post three touching tributes in Ms Anderson’s memory.
Two clips detailed sweet moments of their relationship, including pictures of the pair cuddling in bed together, with Ms Anderson’s young child, smiling together and posing for photos at events.
One of the videos included a clip of a ring nestled in a jewellery box as well as snaps of rose petals arranged on a bed to spell “I love you” and a single red rose wrapped in cellophane.
The first clip was captioned “Can‘t wait to be with you again my queen” while the second included several love hearts.
A third video uploaded by Mr Bevo shared screenshots of tributes posted in Ms Anderson‘s memory by family and friends as well as media coverage of his girlfriend’s death.
“I can‘t do this, I need my little family back,” he wrote.
Mourners of Ms Anderson flooded the videos with comments of support and solidarity, with her partner liking each and every one.
When one told him to “please look after (the child) for her,” he responded: “I will forever”.
Mr Bevo also changed his Facebook profile picture to a selfie of the pair, showing his arms wrapped around Ms Anderson.
“Forever in my heart,” he wrote.
‘BUBBLY’ YOUNG MUM’S FINAL DAYS BEFORE STABBING DEATH
It comes as young mum Mackenzie Anderson posted a series of social media photographs showing her looking happy and positive in the weeks leading up to her shocking stabbing.
As well as precious video footage of her baking and singing with her toddler son, the 21-year-old also revealed her battle with depression and how she had turned her life around after developing an ice addiction at the age of 16.
As a friend revealed the two-year-old was asking for his “mumma”, Ms Anderson’s own mum spoke about the family’s devastation over her death.
“No parent should have to bury a child and this is sadly our new reality,” her mum, dental hygienist Tabitha Acret posted on Facebook.
“As many of you have heard the devastating news we have tragically lost our beautiful little girl.
“May her memory be a blessing.”
She described her daughter as “bubbly and feisty”.
“Many people have reached out and offered their condolences, we thank you very much for doing so,” Ms Acret posted.
“I haven’t replied to many people as you can understand it’s been an overwhelming sadness that is in our hearts at the moment.”
Ms Anderson had settled with her son in a unit in a block of specially-built affordable housing in the Newcastle suburb of Mayfield and had a new boyfriend as she looked to the future.
“Falling in love with life again,” she wrote on one video as she shared TikTok clips with her 28,900 followers.
She shared videos and photographs of her little boy who she called “my caterpillar” and “my love bug” as she captured celebrations for his first birthday party.
His journey after receiving surgery for a cleft palate as also charted on social media.
The young woman wrote that she was putting her drug problems behind her.
“Addiction is a disease,” she said. “It makes you too selfish to see the havoc and mess in your life that you created … or care about the people who you shattered and hurt.”
One melancholy TikTok post showed her miming to the Amber Run song “I Found” with the words: “I look better than I thought I would … but I miss you more than I thought I would.”
Another was captioned: “Tomorrow isn’t promised, make the most of life, appreciate the little things, live like there isn’t a tomorrow, love like you’ve never loved before, keep the ones who care and love you close. Find peace.”
Ms Anderson also delved into her mental health in several TikToks, revealing her battle with depression and sharing she hoped her young son would “never know” the same struggle.
