Khaled Alameddine fronts court after alleged stabbing at Stockland Merrylands food court

A man has been accused of being an accessory after an alleged stabbing at a food court in a busy western Sydney shopping centre.

A second man charged after an alleged stabbing at Stockland Merrylands shopping centre has been granted bail.

Khaled Alameddine, 19, of Guildford, was charged with being an accessory after the alleged knifing at the food court on the afternoon of October 27 when Cumberland police found a 35-year-old man with stab wounds to his torso.

Police allege the man was sitting in the food court about 2.40pm when a 22-year-old man, Yousef Sabbouh, knifed him before fleeing.

Paramedics treated the injured man before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition. He has since been discharged.

After extensive inquiries and a public appeal, Alameddine was arrested after attending Granville police station on December 20 when he was charged with accessory after the fact to wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, conceal serious indictable offence and driver not disclose identity of driver/passenger.

He was granted conditional bail and appeared briefly at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday when the matter was adjourned for March 28 and his bail was continued.

No pleas have been entered.

Sabbouh was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after he attended Granville police station in January.

He was refused bail and his matter was mentioned at court on January 10. A bid for bail on January 17 was withdrawn and dismissed.

He is next due to front Parramatta Local Court on March 7.
