Gruesome allegations: ‘Cheated’ wife Nirmeen Noufl accused of hacking up husband’s body, dumping remains in bins

The full extent of the horrific allegations levelled against mother-of-eight Nirmeen Noufl can be revealed exclusively by The Daily Telegraph for the first time.

How wife allegedly hacked up husband

Nirmeen Noufl allegedly murdered her “cheating” husband, cut him up into between 20 and 30 pieces, dumped his remains in bins throughout suburban south-west Sydney and then used social media to pretend he was still alive.

The full extent of the horrific allegations levelled against the mother-of-eight can be revealed by The Daily Telegraph, as Noufl was refused bail in the NSW Supreme Court on Thursday on a single charge of murdering her husband, Mamdouh Noulf, known as Emad.

It comes as lawyers for the 54-year-old said evidence would be presented at trial that she had been physically abused by her husband during their marriage and suffered from mental health issues, including experiencing possible psychosis and hallucinations.

They said issues of mental health, potential provocation and whether Ms Noufl had been acting in self defence were all “on the cards” in terms of her defence at trial.

According to a set of police fact sheets seen by the Telegraph, police allege Noufl killed her husband late on May 3 or in the early hours of May 4, 2023 following a dispute over his ongoing romantic relationship with a woman in his home country of Egypt.

Noufl had allegedly found out about Emad’s long-distance relationship two years earlier and been far from impressed at his decision to send his Egyptian mistress more than AUD$15,000 - the equivalent of $550,000 Egyptian Pounds.

But it is what Noufl allegedly did after killing her husband that led NSW Police Homicide Squad boss Danny Doherty to describe the alleged murder as “brutal” and “macabre”.

While the exact cause and circumstances of Emad’s death are not known, police alleged in documents that after killing her husband, Noufl then laid a large tarp down on the floor of their Greenacre home and rolled his body onto it.

She then allegedly used a combination of kitchen knives and a drop saw to dismember him.

Police allege Noufl then put his body parts into “approximately 20 to 30 black plastic bags” and then spent two to three days cleaning the crime scene with “chemicals and bleach”.

“The accused then disposed of the deceased’s remains in various residential bins and industrial areas around Bexley and Chullora,” the documents state.

In an effort to cover her tracks, police allege Noufl took apart the circular saw she had used to cut up her husband with a drill, before taking their clothing to Condell Park and setting it alight.

In the week after Emad was allegedly murdered, multiple relatives tried to contact him.

They later told police their calls went unanswered, but messages on social media received replies.

The court documents state relatives thought this was “unusual”, telling police Emad did not usually communicate over social media, and led them to wonder if the messages they were receiving “were sent by someone using the deceased’s phone”.

Police allege it was Noufl using her husband’s social media accounts to not only talk to his relatives in an effort to make it seem as though he was still alive, but also to chat with his Egyptian mistress.

On May 10, Emad’s long-distance lover allegedly messaged him on Facebook and received a reply.

Less than a fortnight later a message was allegedly sent from Emad’s account to the woman in Egypt requesting she return money owed to Emad.

Emad’s account: “Peace be with you. I urgently need money. Of the money you owe, transfer to me 550,000 [Egyptian Pound] on …. bank account [no. provided] today and send me picture of the transfer”.

However, the woman replied saying she wanted Emad to call her or send a voice recording so she could confirm it was him on the other end of the messages.

A message sent in reply from the deceased’s Facebook account read: “You have no shame. You know that this money belongs to my wife Nirmeen. So, even if she is the one sending the message, she has the right to demand it from you”.

“Send me a message with your voice now,” the overseas female wrote.

“You will have the money right now”.

Deceased’s Facebook account: “You cannot force me to send you a message, and if I send surely you will not like it”.

Female: “I swear to God, it’s not forcing or anything. All I want is to return the trust back to whom it belongs and we get it over and done with”.

On May 23, 2023, police allege Noufl flew to Egypt, and during her trip sold an apartment which previously belonged to Emad using power of attorney privileges.

She also allegedly told his concerned relatives there that she would get him to contact her once she returned to Australia.

It was not until July 25, 2023 - 53 days after police allege he died - that Emad was reported missing.

When police arrived at the couple’s family home on Juno Pde they interviewed Noufl, who allegedly told them “she did not know the whereabouts of the deceased and had not seen him for about two months… and she suspected he had travelled to Egypt”.

Noufl allegedly told police that when she returned from her Egypt trip she discovered Emad’s “property, along with a large amount of money and gold, was no longer at the house” where they lived.

Police arrested Noufl on October 4, 2024, some 17 months after it is alleged she killed Emad.

The court documents state that Emad’s body parts have not been located.

In court on Thursday, Justice Deborah Sweeney found Noufl had not demonstrated that her ongoing detention was not justified.

She found there was a strong circumstantial case against Noufl and any mental or physical health conditions she had could be adequately treated in custody.

The case will return to court next year.
