A former Bandido bikie has been charged after he allegedly punched and stomped on another man at a hotel in Sydney’s west last month.
John Fahey, 48, was arrested by Raptor Squad officers at a West Pennant Hills home just after 6am on Wednesday following a major investigation into the incident.
Police were called to a hotel on Merrylands Rd in Greystanes on August 16 following reports of an assault.
Officers were told Fahey had allegedly punched and stomped on a 39-year-old man’s head before leaving the scene.
The 39-year-old was taken to Westmead Hospital by paramedics where he was treated for serious head injuries.
Fahey, who police will allege is a retired member of the Bandidos OMCG, was taken to Castle Hill Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding and affray.
Fahey was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday.
John is the older brother of former Bandidos national president Jason Fahey, who has recently patched over to the Hells Angels in a major power shift. There is no suggestion Jason was involved in the incident.
The recruitment of Jason Fahey, a major figure in the bikie world, comes after the Hells Angel established a new chapter in south Sydney amid rumours more are to follow as their numbers grow with an entire Rebels bikie gang chapter recently defecting to them.
Jason Fahey has been a figurehead with the Bandidos for over a decade but was recently photographed in Hells Angels colours and with club members.
Investigations continue.
