Elderly woman dies after being struck by car in Revesby

A woman believed to be in her 70s has died and her husband has been arrested following a tragic car accident in Sydney’s south west.

An elderly woman has died and her husband has been arrested by police, following a tragic car crash in Sydney’s south west.

NSW Police and emergency service crews were called to Nichols Ave in Revesby about 3:15pm on Sunday afternoon, following reports the woman had been struck by a car in the driveway of a home.

Multiple ambulance paramedics treated the woman – believed to be in her 70s, at the scene however she could not be saved.

The male driver of the vehicle, understood to be the woman’s husband, was arrested by police at the scene and taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Footage captured on the street shows an elderly man – believed to be the woman’s husband, sitting beside police officers outside a home and being comforted by a woman who was seen wiping away tears from her eyes.

Specialist detectives spent Sunday afternoon canvassing the suburban street and talking to nearby residents.

Police have confirmed an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced and inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
