A Sydney bikie-turned-rapper has created a 30-minute long podcast denying he’s a snitch after being trolled with rat emojis.
John Lavulo, who goes by the moniker Big Kash, posted the podcast on YouTube after he was trolled online for co-operating with the police.
The 33-year-old repeatedly said he did not co-operate with the police.
Lavulo was allegedly shot by fellow rapper Thomas Karras Vandermade, who goes by the name Masi Rooc, while sitting in his car with his girlfriend on August 8.
The shooting occurred down a driveway of a Warwick Farm property.
Vandermade was charged with attempted murder among other violent offences. In March, his bail application was refused at Campbelltown Local Court.
This prompted a wave of rat emojis to be posted on Lavulo’s social media with fans linking Vandermade’s charges to Lavulo snitching.
In the podcast, posted online on Saturday, Lavulo repeatedly told viewers he was not a rat.
“There’s only one form of snitching, writing it on paper, going to court and bang. It is always the people that aren’t in the street that sit there looking into stuff, they’ve got nothing to do with it,” he said.
He spoke later in the half-an-hour long podcast about how he does not need to address the snitching allegations.
“At the same point, we don’t need to address it, we know the truth. We spoke about it before as long as the people I care about know the truth then … there’s nothing you can say anymore there is no more rat emojis.
CCTV footage shown to the court in March depicts the moments Vandermade allegedly followed Mr Lavulo down a driveway of the Warwick Farm property.
In the footage, a man alleged to be Vandermade, gets out of a red car and charges towards Lavulo and his girlfriend, before allegedly firing a pistol into the car.
During the proceedings in March, the court also heard Lavulo refused to make a statement as the alleged victim.
After being shot the rapper drove himself to Liverpool Hospital for treatment.
Lavulo also claims that he used to be a bikie.
