The off-duty police officer accused of killing two men has been sacked from the NSW Police Force.
Beau Lamarre-Condon has been charged with two counts of murder over the death of TV presenter Jesse Baird and his partner Luke Davies in February.
In a statement released on Friday morning NSW Police said Lamarre-Condon, a senior constable, had been removed by NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb under section 181D of the Police Act 1990.
“The Commissioner has the ability to remove officers if she has lost confidence in their suitability to continue as a police officer,” the statement said.
Lamarre-Condon remains behind bars after handing himself in to authorities at Bondi Police Station on February 23. He has been denied bail.
Central to the public outrage was the allegation that Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon used his police issued Glock to kill the couple at a Paddington home.
“We’re in this position that a police firearm was used and that can never happen again,” Commissioner Webb said earlier this month.
It will be alleged in court the 28-year-old had planned to kill network 10 presenter Mr Baird, 26, with whom he previously had casual intimate encounters, as part of an “escalating” pattern of stalking.
Mr Davies, 29, was with his new partner at the Brown St sharehouse when he was allegedly murdered.
Police allege after moving the bodies to Bungonia in the NSW Southern Tablelands, where they were found stuffed in surfboard bags on Tuesday, Constable Lamarre-Condon drove to Newcastle on February 22.
