Police reveal new details about jilted cop’s alleged double murder

Accused killer cop Beau Lamarre-Condon allegedly stole bullets from a shooting range two weeks before the deaths of Sydney couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.

Accused killer cop Beau Lamarre-Condon bought a surfboard bag days before the alleged double murder and only planned to target his former lover Jesse Baird, police claim.

It has also been revealed three shots were fired the morning Mr Baird and partner Luke Davies were allegedly killed by Lamarre-Condon.

The disturbing new police allegations against the former constable can be revealed as investigators said they will allege Mr Davies, 29, was never an intended target.

But when Lamarre-Condon turned up at the Paddington terrace on the morning of February 19 and found Mr Baird, 26, inside with his new boyfriend, police allege he killed them both.

He allegedly hid the bodies in a blue tarpaulin in the courtyard of the Brown St property and went back to a Miranda store to buy a second surfboard bag, before going back to the house on the Tuesday morning and removing both bodies.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal that police will also allege Lamarre-Condon stole bullets from a shooting range about a fortnight before the crime.

NSW Police will allege the meticulous planning carried out by Lamarre-Condon included stealing bullets so that his superiors would not notice any missing from his service-issued Glock and magazine.

When he returned his gun and ammunition to Balmain police station’s weapons room and took the rest of the week off sick, it contained the full amount of bullets, raising no suspicion.

It was also revealed on Thursday morning three shots were fired the morning Mr Baird and Mr Davies were killed, according to a witness.

“The number is three. Three shots were fired,” 2GB’s Ben Fordham said on Thursday morning.

It is understood the information came from a nearby resident, living just 150 metres away from the Paddington home where the couple were allegedly shot dead by Beau Lamarre-Condon

“This person has security cameras located outside their house and on Monday, February 19 just after 9:30 in the morning, three gunshots can be heard,” Fordham said.

“The three gunshots happened in just a few seconds. There’s an initial gunshot followed by two quick shots immediately.

“Police told us that the three gunshots are consistent with the information we’ve gathered so far.”

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb confirmed on Wednesday night Lamarre-Condon had been officially dismissed from the force.

The bodies of Mr Baird and Mr Davies were taken to a morgue at Lidcombe, in Sydney’s south west, yesterday where a post mortem examination will be carried out.

They were found in separate bags beside a fence on a property in Bungonia, south of Goulburn, on Tuesday afternoon, after information Lamarre-Condon gave homicide detectives who visited him in jail that morning.

In more distressing details of the alleged murder, the two female flatmates who lived at the terrace with Mr Baird went to bed on the Monday night not knowing the two bodies were wrapped in a tarpaulin in the backyard.

Police allege Lamarre-Condon carried out the killing at 9.50am, then concealed the bodies beneath a blue-coloured tarp in a rear courtyard, and left the premises.

The flatmates returned home after work not knowing anything untoward had gone on.

Police allege Lamarre-Condon went to a car rental facility at Sydney Airport that night and rented a Toyota Hiace van.

He returned to the terrace on the Tuesday morning when the women had gone to work, and allegedly loaded the bodies into the rental van.

It is not clear where Lamarre-Condon spent the day on Tuesday, but deputy commissioner Dave Hudson said police will allege he made partial admissions that day about being involved in the deaths of two people.

The next day, police allege that on his way to a rural property in the southern tablelands, Lamarre-Condon dumped some of the men’s blood-soaked clothes and personal items in a skip at Cronulla, before driving further south.

A mystery female friend who travelled with Lamarre-Condon, unaware the bodies were in the van, has since told investigators she suspected something was under a blue tarp in the rear, but she was too frightened to ask questions.

The woman is not accused of any involvement in the alleged murders and has been fully co-operative with police.

The families of Mr Baird and Mr Davies, who flew in to Sydney from Melbourne and Queensland respectively, were due to return home last night to begin the devastating process of planning funerals.
