Alleged drink-driver crashes into 10 parked cars in South Hurstville

A 40-year-old female passenger has died in a two-car crash, and a man will face court after allegedly crashing into 10 parked cars while drink-driving this weekend.

A 40-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash in Sylvania on Sunday morning.

The accident happened about 11.10am on the Princes Highway near Birdwood S, when a Toyota Corolla and Honda HR-V collided in a southbound lane.

The woman, a passenger in the Toyota Corolla, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.

The Corolla driver was treated at the scene and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

The driver of the Honda HR-V was also treated at the scene and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command have established a crime scene and are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or information to come forward and contact Sutherland police or Crime Stoppers.

The Princes Highway southbound lanes were closed early on Suynday afternoon and motorists were urged to avoid the area.

Man crashes into 10 parked cars

A man will face court after allegedly crashing into 10 parked cars while drink-driving in Sydney’s south overnight.

The carnage occurred about 11.25pm on West St, South Hurstville.

Police said the 20-year-old driver then allegedly threatened residents who confronted him about the incident, in which cars which were parked and unattended on the side of the road, were damaged.

No one was injured.

The Hurstville man was given a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result, and was arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station.

In a breath analysis test at the station he returned a reading of 0.138, police said.

He was charged with driving with a middle range PCA and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm and his drivers licence was suspended.

He is due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on May 10, 2022. Tuesday 10 May 2022.
