SHOOTERS are living up to their reputation as the movers and shakers of Super Netball.
While some team’s rosters are still to be finalised, only the Swifts and Firebirds will field the same shooting combinations as they did in 2018.
The second Diamonds shooter in 24 hours on Wednesday switched clubs for the 2019 season with 41 Test veteran Caitlin Thwaites moving from the Magpies to cross town rivals, the Vixens.
COUP: Most wanted woman now a Giant
TRACKER: Player movement
It is a move which will add significant firepower to a Vixens side which failed to make the finals of Super Netball this season in an unexpectedly disappointing result for the club.
Thwaites started her elite career with the Vixens and won the 2009 Premiership with the club.
A day earlier Australian captain Caitlin Bassett announced a three-year deal with the Sydney-based Giants.
Bassett will now be half of one of the most formidable shooting combos in world netball as the circle partner of English star Jo Harten.
CREATING WAVES: Surfing’s big move
The pair are just two of numerous shooters taking flight in the wake of the 2018 Grand Final last month with radically different shooting combinations on the cards for the 2019 league.
Gone from the Giants will be Susan Pettitt through retirement with Vixens shooter star Mwai Mumwenda on the recovery from knee surgery at the Vixens.
While Thwaites moves to the Vixens, her old teammate at the Magpies, Alice Teague-Neeld, has signed on with Perth to play alongside the competitions top scorer, Jhaniele Fowler.
Former Diamonds shooters Kristina Brice and Natalie Medhurst are also on the move.
Brice failed to secure a contract with the Giants and will play in New Zealand while Medhurst is currently clueless after being dropped by Perth.

The Swifts were one of the first clubs to reveal the majority of their players for 2019 and will stick fast with English star Helen Housby and Trinidad & Tobago shooter Sam Wallace for next season.
The Firebirds have also opted for stability with Romelda Aiken and Gretel Tippett both secured.
