WE all remember her as the little diver who made her first Olympics as a teenager.
Now Melissa Wu is all grown up and a veteran of the Australian diving team.
The silver medallist from the Beijing Olympics qualified fourth for the 3m springboard semi-final in an encouraging sign for an Australian team desperate to boost their medal tally.
Competing at her third Olympics at just 24, Wu earns SwoopPlay of the Day for her outstanding performance to make her Games semi-final.
Wu joins Australian paddlers, beach volleyballers, Anna Meares, Matildas star Lisa De Vanna, Opals captain Penny Taylor and equestrians Sue Hearn and Mary Hanna in winning Swoop Play of the Day.
Wu failed to win a medal at the London Olympics and is looking to turn around her fortunes in Rio.
She will be joined by teenager Brittany O’Brien in the semi-finals of her pet event where only the top 12 advance to the final stage.
