Taylor went into the event at Coffs Harbour trailing but came out on top after a post race penalty to a rival saw her collect the top prize — the first female driver in the 5O year history of the Rally Australia Championship to achieve the milestone.

Taylor is a fulltime driver with Subaru and has aspirations to compete on the world rally championship.

The victory is the first for a female driver in any major Australian championship. Taylor’s mother Coral won four titles as the co-driver for Neal Bates — Harry Bates’ father.
