TAB Racing Update - Memsies Stakes

OUR experts try to boost your bank balance with the best value bets of the weekend in the major cards around the nation.

Last week ... Early Oil analyst Michael Manley ended a run of value bet placings with Heatherly ($2.90) saluting at Moonee Valley. Elsewhere, there were plenty of minor placegetters sprinkled among our other selections, including Le Romain ($4.20) at Randwick, and Yulong Baby ($5) and Throssell ($5.50) at the Valley.

HOT TIPS: WEEKEND BEST BETS

BRAD DAVIDSON & SHAYNE O’CASS PREVIEW ROSEHILL ON SATURDAY

ROSEHILL

RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 30x02

ZOUMAGIC (Race 5, No. 10)

Defeated a smart field of mares at Canterbury, unleashing a powerful surge from the turn to win by a widening margin. She then stepped out at the same venue, was trapped three and four wide the whole trip and still finished strongly to just miss overhauling all-the-way winner Serve And Volley. She is up in grade here but gets in well with the claim and enjoys rain-affected conditions.

TAB Fixed Odds: $6.50

BRAD DAVIDSON (Daily Telegraph). Form: 4040x

ALL-UP — Race 7, No. 7 TELPERION (place) into Race 8, No. 10 SOFIN (place)

Telperion and Sofin appear to be the best value runners at Rosehill. Telperion ($17) is a massive price for a horse that beat Star Turn home in a Golden Slipper and sprinted well to win a stakes race comfortably first-up last prep. Sofin ($26) clocked the quickest 200m splits right from the 1000m mark in the Premier’s Cup Prelude and the race was run to suit the front runners. Not well weight again this week but she is a genuine knockout chance in the Premier’s Cup.

STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 70582

SINGING

Race 8, No. 6

Kris Lees gave punters their first look at this former French and German stayer when he dashed to the lead but was run down in the final strides over 1900m at Canterbury on a Heavy (8) on July 23. Much fitter now and there are better races in store for him. Ready to win.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4

JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: x7737

SNIPPET OF HOPE

Race 4, No. 7

Should revel in these sloppy conditions and did not lose any supporters on a real bog at Canberra last start. Plummets in weight for that gallant effort. Great value.

TAB Fixed Odds: $14

TAB Racing Update - The Run to the Rose

SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 64207

DUBAWI DREAM

Race 9, No. 12

Making a leap from midweek to borderline Listed Saturday race, but he is two for two on heavy and he’ll be huge odds again. Great each-way bet.

TAB Fixed Odds: $35

DARREN PRENDERGAST (SuperRacing). Form: 13764

SWEAR

Race 3, No. 2

Made a big impression when scoring on debut at Hawkesbury in April. The Hawkes stable have got their three-year-olds in good shape heading into the spring and this colt will be a big threat first-up at good odds.

TAB Fixed Odds: $7

CAULFIELD

MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Form: 85046

SEABURGE

Race 6, No. 2

High-class 3YO resuming. Genuine Guineas chance. Will power late.

TAB Fixed Odds: $6

MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun) Form: 39221

MISS PROMISCUITY

Race 5, No. 13

Brilliant sprinting mare who loves this track. Well drawn and should get a gun on speed run.$7.50 appeals as value.

TAB Fixed Odds: $7.50

Miss Promiscuity has a good record at Caulfield. Picture: Tom Huntley

DARYL TIMMS (Herald Sun) Form: 94073

TREVINDER

Race 5, No. 8

Consistent and will be better third-up from a spell.

TAB Fixed Odds: $21

SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: x1103

HOT DIPPED

Race 1, No. 1

Super impressive in Tasmania winning first three races effortlessly before two failures on the other side of Bass Strait. Still convinced the improvement will come.

TAB Fixed Odds: $13

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 81152

LORD OF THE SKY

Race 7, No. 3

Have tipped him three previous times with mixed success, but he won’t have to contend with The Cleaner and he won’t be stuck three wide. Damien Oliver jumps back on.

TAB fixed odds: $13

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 73763

BLUE TYCOON

Race 6, No. 5

Exciting youngster from Hayes/Dabernig stable looking for a third straight win.

Drawn nicely in barrier one and be on him on Saturday and in the Caulfield Guineas at $41.

TAB Fixed Odds: $6

TAB Racing Update - Resimax Stakes

DOOMBEN

NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 00156

LIPSYNC

Race 1, No. 13

Resumes from a break here and hoping the Kendrick stable can provide a long priced three-year-old winner a fortnight on from Rare Occurrence. Won stylishly on debut at the Sunshine Coast Cushion track and did enough there to be sent out a $13 chance in a hot stakes race over the carnival. She was wide and dropped out, so prepared to forgive that given she was outclassed and much better placed here. Lots of speed up front, she should get her chance to run on.

TAB Fixed Odds: $21

MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS

MORPHETTVILLE

BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 71217

IMPORTANT

Race 8, No. 5

He’s come back to racing in good style, with two wins from three starts from a spell. He was a dominant last-start winner at Gawler and has drawn to get a good trip from barrier five with in-form jockey Jamie Kah in the saddle.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.80

LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 31440

HEZA RIPPER

Race 6, No. 7

Victorian form has been solid and is drawn to get a perfect run in a race full of speed. Has a more than handy record and looks each-way value.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.80
