Weekend Best Bets: Find out who the experts are tipping

PODCAST: OUR experts give you an early shot at finding a winner as they look at the major races around the nation.

TAB Racing Update - Memsies Stakes

OUR experts give you an early shot at finding a winner as they look at the major races around the nation.

Last week ... The Advertiser’s Lincoln Moore continued his tipping hot streak when Try Four ($2.80) bolted in at Morphettville. That’s four BB winners in a row for our man — no pressure this week! Ray Thomas and Darren Prendergast got punters off on the right foot with Super Tycoon ($3.30) winning again at Randwick, while Matt Stewart (Grand Dreamer, $3.70) and Chris Vernuccio (Heatherly, $2.90) were also on the money with their tips at Moonee Valley.

BEAT THE BOOKIE: VALUE BETS

SATURDAY MEETINGS (AEST Times)

ROSEHILL (9 races, start 12.10pm),

DOOMBEN (8 races, start 12.17pm),

CAULFIELD (9 races, start 12.25pm),

MORPHETTVILLE (8 races, 1.08pm),

BELMONT (7 races, start 3.18pm).

ROSEHILL

RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 27x11

EXTENSIBLE

Race 2, No. 3

Was dominant in scoring over 1400m at this track two weeks ago and is placed to advantage again. The slight increase in race distance to 1500m will suit, she is drawn to get the run of the race, and the rain-affected track conditions won’t bother her. She can win again.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.30

BRAD DAVIDSON (Daily Telegraph). Form: 212x2

SNOOPY

Race 6, No. 9

Held up at a crucial stage first up and he probably should have won the race which was set up for His Majesty. Meets that horse 2.5kg better off at the weights this weekend and should atone.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.20

DARREN PRENDERGAST (SuperRacing). Form: 43161

EXTENSIBLE

Race 2, No. 3

Consistent mare in good nick this preparation. Her recent efforts were rewarded with a strong win at Rosehill last start and she looks well placed to go back to back here.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.30

BRAD DAVIDSON & SHAYNE O’CASS PREVIEW ROSEHILL ON SATURDAY

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 22161

ALLERGIC

Race 8, No. 3

Defied a betting drift to win well last start and he can go on with it. Should be able to handle to heavy conditions.

TAB fixed odds: $3.20

STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 52284

EXTENSIBLE

Race 2, No. 3

This mare is yet to miss a place, with 3 wins and 4 placings from seven starts. Team Snowden produced her at this track over 1400m on August 13, and she left her rivals stranded. She can do it all again this week.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.30

JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 63246

ENCOSTANATI

Race 6, No. 5

Did all the bullocking work and was only pipped in the final two strides last time out at this venue. Back to the six furlong trip on Saturday and Bjorn Baker stable is beginning to fire again after a lacklustre couple of months.

TAB Fixed Odds: $9.50

SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 83823

IMPENDING

Race 7, No. 10

I have been saying since lunchtime on July 29 that Impending — who trialled that same morning — will win the Golden Rose and I stand by that, more than that in fact, I think he is a moral. He’ll struggle to win on September 10 if he doesn’t win this because it’s basically a dress rehearsal minus Divine Prophet and possibly Omei Sword.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.60

Off & Racing: Run to the Rose

CAULFIELD

MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Form: 54631

MAGNAPAL

Race 8. No. 4

Enormous last start. Steps up in trip, loves the track, hard to beat.

TAB Fixed Odds: $7

MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: 32112

PRINCE OF BROOKLYN

Race 2, No. 9

Broke through for well deserved win this track and distance last start. Drops five kilos and should settle closer to the lead. Stick with him.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.50

DARYL TIMMS (Herald Sun). Form: 62242

PRINCE OF BROOKLYN

Race 2, No. 9

Should add another win to his already one victory and three seconds this time in.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.50

SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: x2412

PRINCE OF BROOKLYN

Race 2, No. 9

Very consistent and made ground well last start to salute over same distance. Can back up again and appears to enjoy racing here.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.50

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 32236

BLACK HEART BART

Race 7, No. 2

Star sprinter resuming after a successful campaign including winning the Group 1 Goodwood.

Has won his only previous start at Caulfield and looks well placed to make a winning return.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.60

DOOMBEN

NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 43026

PEPPERANO

Race 7, No. 13

She’s closing in on 500 days since her last win, but has only had five starts since then and really put the writing on the wall first up when gunned down very late. Gets a lovely draw this time. Natural to think she has improvement to come given her two-year-old peaks and looks beautifully placed here.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.80

MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS

MORPHETTVILLE

BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 26224

SMART MANOUEVRE

Race 3, No. 13

Classy filly from Phillip Stokes stable who showed plenty of talent as a two-year-old and placed twice at Group 3 level before a spell. Tuned up for this with nice trial win at Gawler and expect her to produce bold first-up effort.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.90

LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 71111

RAVEN’S FIRE

Race 5, No. 6

Solid effort here last time when the money came for her and she fought off a handy type in Tycoon Sophie to lead throughout. Gets in well with the claim, perfectly drawn and should take some beating again.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.20
