The KFC SuperCoach community has come together to raise some serious money — with one donation totalling $2,500.

KFC SuperCoach NRL Winner Tim Moodie's incredible act of generosity

The KFC SuperCoach community has come together to raise some serious money for Jamiee Moodie, sister of 2021 champion Tim Moodie.

Jaimee was diagnosed with breast cancer only two weeks ago, just as brother Tim was surging to KFC SuperCoach glory.

He was officially crowned as champion on Monday and won $50,000, but will donate $45,000 of the winnings to his sister, who has a long road ahead with surgery and chemotherapy.

Tim’s amazing act of generosity also brought awareness to Jamiee’s My Cause page.

The page had raised $6,000 24 hours ago but that figure has now ballooned to $13,000, many of those donations coming from KFC SuperCoach players.

With Tim’s $45,000 on top of that, the total figure is now nudging $60,000.

The biggest donation, from Adam Druissi of the SC Playbook, was a massive $2,500.

“Best of luck Jamiee and well done to Tim on such an inspiring move,” he wrote on the My Cause page.

KFC SuperCoach fan Scott Dykes wrote: “Saw your brother’s huge play after winning SuperCoach and felt like I should chip in for a fellow league family.

“All the best with your treatments Jaimee you’ve got this!”

SUPERCOACH CHAMPION’S AMAZING ACT OF GENEROSITY

Tim Moodie just scored the biggest pay day of his life — winning $50,000 as champion of KFC SuperCoach.

But he’ll barely keep a cent for himself, instead donating almost all the money to his sister Jaimee, who was diagnosed with breast cancer just weeks ago.

“I surprised her and said I will slip $45K into her My Cause page,” said the 37-year-old from Kingswood.

“I want to use the money to make her journey a bit easier and get out of this together.”

“She’s got a really tough road ahead — chemo, she’ll lose her hair, she’ll have to buy a wig, she’ll have to freeze her eggs, she’s only 27.”

As Moodie closed in on KFC SuperCoach glory over the last few weeks, Jaimee was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer that needs immediate surgery to remove the tumour.

Jaimee, a portrait photographer and newly qualified personal trainer, will need ongoing chemotherapy treatment, no longer be able to work or have the energy to and has been told not to be out in public due to being at high posed by the Covid pandemic.

A My Cause page set up to support Jaimee has raised just over $6,000, but will soon get a huge cash injection from her brother.

“I need to keep $5K for myself but she’s getting the rest,” said Moodie, an aspiring actor who is studying to be a counsellor. “Unfortunately I don’t get to see her and hug her as much as I want to (due to Covid) but we’ll get around to that soon.”

“We are devastated by this life-changing diagnosis Jaimee has been given,” says Jaimee’s My Cause page, set up by best friend Taren. “With strength and positivity, love and support we can help her beat this. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

“Please stay safe and well during these hard times and get your health checks.”

Moodie admits his obsession with KFC SuperCoach almost got the better of him.

“I was getting to a pretty crazy point,” says the coach of The Villi Army, who also stars on the podcast The SuperCoach Experience.

“I was getting really paranoid that people in my circle would be leaking information. So I was very selective in who I could tell and confide in. I changed my mind week to week on who I could trust.

“It started getting really weird. I was praying to my captains. I prayed to Cleary when he broke the (KFC SuperCoach points-scoring) record. I prayed to Turbo when he broke the record.

“But eventually I realised I was praying to too many gods and decided to worship Viliame Kikau, the man my team is named after. I set up a shrine complete with a big cardboard cut out.

“I have anxiety. I would worry about trades so much. I got completely obsessive. I got it in my head that I needed to listen to every single SuperCoach podcast, so I was listening to 14 podcasts a week.

“I had to make a pros and cons list before every trade and I’d only do a trade if there were twice as many pros as cons.

“It got to the point where I was watching replays of games from four weeks ago to assess a player before making a trade.

“I barely slept. But I feel like I made my best decisions while others were sleeping.”

TIM’S TOP 3 TIPS

1 Save trades: “The Villi Army had two trades heading into the final round when most had none. From quite early on I took note of those around me and what trades they were making. I always wanted to make sure I had two more trades than anyone else. I’d make a pros and cons list before every trade and only do a trade if there were twice as many pros as cons.”

2 Know when to go against the crowd: “If you don’t feel really strongly about a trade just don’t do it.”

3 Watch every game: “You don’t need other peoples’ opinions when you watch every game because you have all you need to make your decisions right in front of you.”

BEST TRADE

“Obviously I would not have won without Tommy Turbo but that’s a boring answer. I bought in DCE straight after Origin when most others went Shaun Johnson.” Johnson got injured soon after and was ruled out for the season, while DCE went on to average 105 post-Origin.
