The clash of the Gold Coast heavyweights PBC SHS and Keebra Park, and big brother (Marsden SHS) taking on its little brother (Mabel Park SHS) looms as highlights as Langer Trophy livestreaming continues on Wednesday.
Round 5 will feature four Langer Trophy games, plus Langer reserves and Walters Cup action at www.couriermail.com.au, the Gold Coast Bulletin and News’ affiliates.
In all livestream 11 elite schoolboy rugby league fixtures will be viewed by subscribers, while your home of schoolboy rugby league, News Corp, were also streaming Payne Cup fixtures.
Keebra Park SHS were starting to get some troops back while PBC SHS were unbeaten.
Elite Keebra Park hooker Blake Mozer and representative prop Herman Tofaeono have been the mainstay of the Keebra Park side across the opening rounds, but Keebra is getting more firepower back on the park and watch out for Nella Lotaki’s thurst through the centres along with the skill of halves Cooper Maytom and Connor Te Kani shining.
Speaking of play makers, PBC SHS were competition front runners for good reason and there is no better ball player or organiser in the halves than Tom Weaver.

He has his mate, dummy half, Oskar Bryant back from injury and with imposing edge forwards and Deine Marnier in the centres, strap yourself in for a schoolboy blockbuster.
Wednesday’s Langer Trophy matches will feature trophy contenders Marsden SHS against Langer Trophy minnows, Mabel Park SHS, a school in its first season in the top tier, Brisbane Broncos-sponsored competition.
After a round 1 collapse against Coombabah SHS, Mabel Park SHS have been in a position to beat St Mary’s and Wavell SHS, and were competitive against Keebra Park SHS.
“We played our worst game in round one but since then the boys have made me as a coach, super proud,’’ said Mabel Park SHS coach Lee Addison.
“We only had three weeks to prepare for this competition against some schools that have had at least three decades.
“We are going okay. We don’t like losing matches but it’s a huge learning curve for the team and they are learning quickly and giving everything which is all a coach can ask for.

“Marsden will be hurting after losing last week (against PBC SHS) and they’ll be ready for us but my boys will play without pressure and with a smile on their faces.”
Marsden SHS coach Matt Hartigan, having introduced Dom Sandow and winger Rylan Flemming across successive rounds, will have another Langer Trophy newcomer - VJ Semu.
Semu, a middle forward, Semu played for the Burleigh Bears in the Meninga Cup and will be an impact player for Marsden SHS.

The ultra impressive Taelon Te-Whiu Hopa may start in the forwards, depending on how Marsden SHS intend to cover injured hooker Tyree Bowman.
The match will be played at Marsden SHS.
Coombabah SHS will look to continue its steady progression in the competition against a St Mary’s side which, frustratingly, is still without forward leader Xavier Va’a.
The Wavell SHS v Ipswich SHS should be a cracker.
Ipswich, with rookie Rene Bagon finding his feet in the competition, and coming off a last round break through win, will bounce into the clash.
But Wavell have been quiet achievers and always lift on their home turf.
