The COVID-19 border bubble means Marsden SHS will give up its home ground advantage in the fifth and final home-and-away Langer Cup fixture next week to enable Palm Beach Currumbin SHS to play at full strength.
PBC have several New South Wales-based players in their side who, under government rules, can travel from the Tweed Heads region into the Gold Coast, but who cannot commute further north than Ormeau.
Playing the game in Logan next Wednesday as originally planned would have left the PBC Reds seeing blue, with PBC fielding an under strength side due to border bubble restrictions.

It is the second time within a week a major schools sporting fixture has been moved to assist PBC SHS sporting teams featuring NSW players.
Today’s Queensland Schools Premier League grand finals were being played on the Gold Coast after originally been scheduled for Logan after it was established the PBC senior boys side would be under strength minus their NSW based players.
The football grand final day was being livestreamed today as well.
Marsden SHS executive principal and chair of the Queensland Schools Rugby League Andrew Peach said Marsden was happy to accommodate the NSW players in the PBC side despite it meaning Marsden SHS would have had just one home match in the competition.
“We’ve been working with the Ormeau Shearers to make sure the game is held within the Gold Coast City Council area,’’ he said.
“They have been great and are really looking forward to hosting the match next week.
“This is our premier competition in Queensland, and we’re happy to make the move for the good of the competition.
“I’m sure everybody wants to see the best playing against each other.”
The move will see the Year 10 Walters Cup also move next Wednesday, with games kicking off at 3pm.
It is a must win match for Marsden SHS who must beat PBC to have a chance to making it into the semi-finals.
