GAME 10: TAMWORTH 6 METRO SOUTH WEST 0 (MEN’S)
A firing Tamworth outfit has proven to be no match for Metro South West after braving chilly morning conditions to achieve a dominant 6 nil victory.
Metro South West had an early chance with a dangerous Ryan Proctor strike bouncing off the right post. The ricochet led to a dangerous counter attack downfield where Tamworth captain Isaac Farmilo fed a ball across the goal face for Jack Watson to score the opener.
Loose passing by Metro South West in the final seconds gave Aaron Knight a chance to extend the lead moments before quarter time, but the shot went wide.
Knight didn’t make the same mistake in the opening minutes of the second quarter with deft touches in the penalty circle leading to a class finish and a 2 nil lead.
The Tamworth side took advantage of a series of penalty corners in the third quarter when Ehrenn Hazell powered home a strike to bottom left of the goals for a three-goal lead.
Two goals to Farmilo and a second to Hazell closed out the game and saw the final scoreline read 6 nil.
