Hunter Clark (DEF $402,200)
Third year. Strong run of form at the back-end of the previous season. Big junior numbers. The 20-year-old looks capable of becoming a major SuperCoach player in 2020. Get on.
Dylan Roberton (DEF $260,400)
Resuming after heart issues and is enjoying a terrific preparation. Will come right into calculations, given 93-point average in last full season of 2017, if he’s ready for a Round 1 start.
Jade Gresham (FWD, MID $456,400)
Added five points to his SuperCoach average last year, after tallying, on average, four more disposals per game and looks capable of improving again. A definite threat as a forward.
Jack Bytel (MID $123,900)
Resuming from back surgery that wiped out his debut season and has plenty of admirers after a terrific summer to date. Tough ball-winner has strong claims.
Max King (FWD $123,900)
Booted 8.5 in the final game of his junior career in 2018 before battling injury last year. May need the outing but is set to feature prominently.
Jack Steele (MID $515,900)
Posted 13 scores of 95 or more last season, despite playing a defensive midfield role at times. Looks set to be unleashed in 2020, however, and could become a major SuperCoach player. Do not dismiss.
Seb Ross (MID $530,900)
In a similar way to 2018, the 26-year-old posted scores of 159, 100, 129, 116 and 126 in huge finish to last year. Others might have stronger claims in the field but he can’t be taken lightly.
Jack Billings (MID $509,500)
Career-best average of 94 last season and looks to have more improvement in him. A threat despite losing dual-position status.
Rowan Marshall (RUCK $598,700)
The surprise of last season, finishing the year with the third-highest average of all forwards. Will still figure prominently in 2020 but the addition of Paddy Ryder and ruck-only status might hinder his chances.
Dan Hannebery (MID $417,000)
The 213-game stayer battled injury during his first year at St Kilda but proved he still takes some catching on his day, scoring 94 or more in four of his five matches in 2019. Hard to trust but there’s some value here.
Jimmy Webster (DEF $346,200)
Limited preparation after injury-affected 2019 campaign but, as 104-point average through the first 12 rounds of 2018 proves, he must be respected at the price.
Luke Dunstan (MID $505,300)
Averaged 96 points per game and recorded nine SuperCoach tons after senior recall in Round 8. Should be an improver but not enough to have strong SuperCoach claims in the classic format.
Bradley Hill (MID $457,400)
The 26-year-old runner will be prominent at his new club and can figure, as seven SuperCoach tons in 2019 suggests. Consider in SuperCoach Draft.
Zak Jones (MID $465,400)
Reliable scorer passed the 80-point mark in 13 of his 18 matches last year, playing through the midfield, a role which is likely to continue at his new club.
Paddy Ryder (RUCK, FWD $449,100)
Dual-position status keeps the 31-year-old in the conversation but it’s hard to make a case if he becomes the No. 2 man.
Jarryn Geary (DEF $305,000)
Resuming from nasty injury and can figure, as five SuperCoach tons in 2018 suggests, but others look to be better placed.
Josh Battle (DEF $390,100)
The 21-year-old offers great flexibility after impressive season in defence last year but there’s better value elsewhere.
Tim Membrey (FWD $436,400)
Important forward might benefit from improvement further up the ground but he should only be considered in SuperCoach Draft.
Dan Butler (FWD $234,600)
Former Tiger should slot straight into a pressure-forward role at the Saints but is unlikely to feature in SuperCoach, despite the price.
Dougal Howard (DEF, FWD $376,500)
Might surprise at his new club – and in a more permanent role - but it’s hard to make a case in SuperCoach on recent form.
Callum Wilkie (DEF $383,800)
Coming off a super-impressive first-up effort, which saw him average 71 points in debut season, but others have much stronger claims.
Jake Carlisle (DEF $328,500)
The Saints need him fit but the SuperCoaches won’t bother.
MAKING THEIR CASE
If Shane Savage (DEF $456,900) and Jack Sinclair (FWD, MID $420,400) are in the reserves, the Saints will be travelling very well. Speedster Nick Hind (FWD $311,000) and the talented duo of Ben Long (FWD $283,100) and Nick Coffield (DEF $309,500) will be right in the mix, while Jack Lonie (FWD $354,200) is unlucky to miss.
Draftee Ryan Byrnes (MID $117,300) is one who might surprise in 2020 if the opportunity presents.
