Disgraced Doctor John Balafas is set to reap a massive profit from the sale of his exclusive Sydney home which boasts jawdropping Harbour views.
In May, Balafas, 49, was convicted on charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, intimidation, and contravening an apprehended violence order.
Court documents said he threatened the victim with an axe and slammed it down on a table. He also punched the victim and smashed a glass on the person’s legs.
He was sentenced to an 18-month community correction order.
While in December last year, the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal banned Dr Balafas from operating for three years after he was found to have sexually exploited and invaded female patients during medical check-ups.
Late Thursday, Balafas’ multimillion dollar Eastern Suburbs home with sublime views, was listed for sale.
“Grand Family Home with Iconic Harbour Views,” the listing for the Portland St, Dover Heights address reads.
According to property records, Balafas bought the home for $3.8m in April 2015 via sales agent Elliott Placks of Ray White Double Bay.
This time the home has been listed by TRG’s Gavin Rubinstein.
Given the stunning rise in property prices in sought-after Dover Heights in the years since the last sale – it’s not inconceivable that the property will fetch double what it did last time.
That could mean a sale in excess of $8m.
And according to records, no improvements have been made to the home in that time.
The home boasts 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 car spots and iconic panoramic Harbour views from all levels that can never be built out.
The back lawn offers the new owner, the perfect place to build a new pool.
According to PropTrack the median house price in Dover Heights is $6m.
