The Big Movement: How Sydney stepped up to tackle obesity

ONE weekend. 10 million steps. We want to inspire Sydneysiders to get outside, get moving and help us tackle the obesity crisis.

Erin Holland says move your body!

ON a stunningly sunny winter’s day, Sydneysiders stepped up — and out — to tackle obesity.

And there’s still time to join in before The Big Movement, held this weekend, ends.

The Big Movement aims to inspire Sydneysiders to get outside and get moving — and our ultimate goal is to clock up 10 million steps in 48 hours.

This weekend readers, their families and friends along with Sydney businesses, sports clubs, and celebrities got moving in a fitness drive determined to combat the rising obesity epidemic.

Participants can amble, run, skip, jump or cycle on a court, on the treadmill or out in the city’s beautiful parks and coastal paths — and make sure you tell us all about it.
