And when you call the eastern suburbs home, chances are that very drama could be playing out in your own neighbourhood.
We bring you an update on our most beloved local characters in our ultimate guide to eastern suburbs reality royalty.
AL PERKINS
If you haven’t heard about this Bondi carpenter yet, let’s just say he’s made a splash on the new season of Married At First Sight.
Al’s self assessment during the first episode this week that he is an 11 out of 10 left jaws dropping.
It remains to be seen whether the handsome 25-year-old will find true love on the show but if his Instagram is anything to go by, there’s no tying down this Romeo.
Wrangling a venomous snake, attending the running of the bulls in Spain, snowboarding and spearfishing are just some of the recent adventures Al has documented online.
The new season of MAFS is screening now.
ABBIE CHATFIELD
Unlike many reality stars who struggle to prolong their 15 minutes of fame, Bachelor runner up Abbie Chatfield’s flame continues to burn brightly almost three years after she appeared on the season with astrophysicist Matt Agnew.
Our Bondi girl won last year’s season of I’m a Celebrity Get me Out Of Here, hosts the hugely popular It’s A Lot podcast and has recently released a bikini collaboration with swimwear giant RAQ which is reportedly flying off the shelves.
Boasting almost 370,000 Instagram followers, the popular influencer resonates with her fans for her insistence on keeping it real.
She recently hit back at trolls who found an old photo of her celebrating Australia Day after she condemned others for doing so as part of her support for the change the date movement.
Abbie simply pointed out now that she knows better, she does better.
“I grew up in a white area and a white family and went to predominantly white schools that taught us the British invading this country was a positive thing. Of course I have (celebrated),” she said.
TIM ROBARDS AND ANNA HEINRICH
This Bachelor power couple currently have their Rose Bay home on the market and we hope that doesn’t mean they’re thinking of leaving the east as they seek out a larger pad for their growing family.
The Potts Point chiropractor had women across Australia swooning when he gave Anna the last rose back in 2013 and since then the couple have gone from strength to strength, recently welcoming a daughter Elle.
The duo both appeared on the 2015 season of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and Tim also went on the compete in both Ninja Warrior and Dancing With The Stars.
However many of his 222,000 Instagram followers are fans due to his legendary fitness regimen The Robards Method.
Meanwhile Anna is the more popular of the two on social media and she has been teasing her 376,000 followers with the imminent launch of her beauty brand Intu Wellness.
CHRISTA BILLICH
The Real Housewives star and her artist husband Charles have thankfully recovered from Covid which they contracted while visiting the US to attend former president Donald Trump’s New Year’s bash at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
The couple, who were also featured in the short lived My 80 Year Old Flatmate series, are proud parents to pooch Charlie who with 80,000 Instagram followers is a formidable identity in her own right.
Known for their larger than life outfits, Christa, 76, and Charles, 87, are darlings of the Sydney social scene and show no sign of slowing down.
We’re glad to hear they’ve both fully recovered in their Darlinghurst penthouse.
GUY SEBASTIAN
With the dust now settled on his controversial Maroubra compound, Guy Sebastian is able to focus his sole attention on the extravaganza that is The Voice Generations.
Together with fellow judges Keith Urban, Rita Ora and Jessica Mauboy, our Guy is all about helping up and coming artists realise the same dream he did when he won the first season of Australian Idol.
When he’s not busy nurturing the next generation of Aussie musical superstars, Guy can be found sharing sweet snaps of his beautiful family.
You can watch Guy on The Voice Generations.
BONDI RESCUE CREW
Channel 10 has yet to confirm a season 17 of one of Australia’s longest running reality shows but that hasn’t stopped the boys and girls in blue from connecting with their many fans.
Lead by the beloved head lifeguard at Waverley Council, Bruce “Hoppo” Hopkins, the team keep hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide updated on their hijinks via social media.
Whether it’s saving lives, reminders to slip slop slap, water safety tips or a selfie on our favourite beach, we can’t get enough.
