Paramedics rush to train, truck collision in Old Junee

Three locomotives on a freight train have derailed in Old Junee after a collision with a semi-trailer.
NSW Ambulance received reports three patients were involved in the crash about 8.45am on Wednesday along Canola Way and Turners Ln.
NSW Ambulance Inspector Lindel Carey said a freight train had collided with a truck trailer at a level crossing which caused it to derail.
Riverina Zone Commander Superintendent Stewart Alexander said three locomotives tipped onto their side.
It was understood up to 10 carriages were in states in disarray.
“We assessed three men, including the driver of the truck and two train drivers,” Inspector Carey said.
“Their injuries were minor and they were taken to hospital as a precaution.
“It’s always concerning when we’re called to incidents involving heavy vehicles.
“Thankfully the train was carrying cargo and no one was seriously injured in this instance.”
