Holbrook: Police allegedly seize $873k worth of vapes during Hume Hwy search

A man has been charged after police allegedly seized a huge amount of vapes worth nearly $900,000 during a vehicle stop in the state’s south.

A man has been charged after police allegedly uncovered more than 17,000 vapes worth nearly $900,000 during a vehicle stop in the state’s south.

Traffic and Highway Patrol Command officers were patrolling the Hume Hwy, Woomargama – 15km southwest of Holbrook – on Tuesday, when they pulled over a van bearing Queensland number plates.

A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed 75 boxes containing a massive 17,400 vapes.

Police said the alleged find had a street value of $873,000.

The 35-year-old male driver was arrested and charged with goods in custody suspected of being stolen.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Holbrook Local Court on March 20.
