Stockinbingal cannabis: A man allegedly had weed hidden in boot

Police allegedly uncovered a bag of cannabis while searching the boot of a Mitsubishi Magna in the Riverina region.

A man will front court after police allegedly found half a kilo of cannabis hidden in the boot of a Mitsubishi Magna.

Police were conducting mobile patrols on the Burley Griffin Way, between Stockinbingal and Wallendbeen, at around 4.40pm on Thursday when they stopped a blue Mitsubishi Magna.

A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed 567 grams of cannabis concealed underneath the floor of the boot.

The man was arrested and taken to Cootamundra Police Station, where he was charged with possess prohibited drug and supply prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Cootamundra Local Court on Monday, December 7.
