Woman killed in Princes Hwy crash in Jerrawangala

A woman is dead and the Princes Hwy is closed in both directions following a catastrophic collision between a car and a truck on the south coast.

A woman has died following a horror crash involving a truck along the Princes Hwy, south of Nowra.

Emergency services rushed to the highway about 6.25am on Monday, between Armchair Rd and Twelve Mile Rd at Jerrawangala, following reports a car and truck had collided.

Paramedics worked to save the life of a woman, believed to be in her 30s, however she sadly died at the scene.

The woman was the driver of the car and was yet to be formally identified, while the truck driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from South Coast Police District have established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

The Princes Highway is currently closed in both directions and will be for some time.

Motorists were advised to delay their trip or avoid the area, as there is no suitable diversion available between Milton and Nowra.
