The Shellharbour community is in mourning following the death of a 13-year-old boy in a horror e-bike accident.

Gervis Wililo was riding through Di Gorman Oval near Church St in Albion Park about 6.40pm on Friday when he fell off his e-bike.

Paramedics rushed to the scene to treat Gervis and took him to Wollongong Public Hospital in a critical condition.

He died a short time later.

It’s understood the 13-year-old may have suffered a medical episode during the incident.

Tributes have flowed in the wake of Gervis’ sudden death, with the young Shellharbour Stingrays footy star and Albion Park High student touching many in his life.

Friends and students performed an emotional haka in honour of their mate at the Stingrays Rugby League Football Club ground on Saturday morning to a packed crowd.

Those who knew Gervis took to social media to pay tribute to a young man who had so much more to offer the world before his tragic death.

“You’ll be forever missed Gervis, still can’t believe this has happened to such a kind hearted person,” one wrote.

“I miss you so much Gervis I can’t explain it, it breaks my heart that your (sic) gone … you were such an amazing and kind person,” another wrote.
