Raymond Allen pleaded not guilty at Nowra Local Court to allegedly murdering David McArthur at his Palm Beach Caravan Park cabin in Sanctuary Point, near Jervis Bay, about 8pm on July 25, 2021.

A second man co-accused in the stabbing, Dean Vimpani, was also arrested last year and charged with murder and will reappear at Nowra Local Court on November 11.

During the same hearing, Allen also pleaded guilty to an unrelated stabbing in September 2021.

About 4.45pm on September 8, an intoxicated man and his friend were walking together on Leonard St in Bomaderry towards local shops when they came across Allen and a friend, according to agreed police facts.

“After some verbal challenges, Allen’s friend rushed at the victim,” the documents state.

“The victim’s friend intervened and threw a punch at Allen’s friend.

“Immediately after the punch was thrown, Allen smashed the mug he was holding and hit the victim in the head, causing the victim immediate pain and a wound to the temple, which started bleeding profusely.”
