Narooma on the NSW south coast continues to grow through multiple residential and commercial developments, with latest plans including a large scale townhouse complex.

The $4.5m plan for 3 Corunna St arises just weeks after a $10m mixed-use shop top apartment complex was proposed for the corner of McMillan Rd and the Princes Hwy.

Plans have been submitted to the Eurobodalla Council by well-known Canberra developer, Nik Bulum, who has previously submitted apartment plans on the NSW south coast.

Mr Bulum’s latest Narooma plan would see five, three-storey townhouses built in a small, suburban area, surrounded by one and two-storey homes.

Plans state each townhouse will feature one to three bedrooms, living rooms, studies, kitchens and other rooms/facilities.

A spokesman for Mr Bulum said the development would have large-scale landscaping, including the removal of 24 trees.

“Each dwelling will have a generous private open space area at the ground floor level, a mix of paving, soft landscaping and a small circular plunge pool/spa feature,” he said.

The proposal comes amid multiple other, multimillion-dollar proposals.

“The design at the ground level is very open plan with an indoor/outdoor feel.”

He also said the proposal would assist with housing affordability in the coastal town of 3385.

“We note the importance of delivering good quality ‘missing middle’ housing in suitable areas, such as where the site is located, to address the housing crisis in NSW,” he said.

“The proposed development responds directly to the intent of these reforms by delivering a missing middle form of medium density housing in a medium density residential zone that is generally in accordance with the relevant planning controls and guidelines.”

The new proposal is one of many developments pinned for Narooma in recent months, with a $16m, four-storey residential apartment for Wagonga St and $25m residential apartment for Graham St.

The multiple proposals also come after Eurobodalla mayor, Mathew Hatcher, announced council’s plan to create a Narooma CBD master plan.

The plans for the $4.5m Corunna St development – like other developments recently proposed for Narooma – can be found on the Eurobodalla Council website.
