A young South Coast woman is set to fight allegations she injured someone known to her, resulting in a string of domestic violence charges.

Leilani Gibson, 27, appeared in Moruya Local Court on Friday, pleading not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm (domestic violence).

The court heard the Eurobodalla-based woman was also subject to an apprehended domestic violence order against her alleged victim.

Gibson’s charges stem from an alleged incident earlier this year, where she allegedly assaulted someone known to her, causing serious injuries.

She was arrested and charged following investigations.

In court, Gibson’s lawyer Lisa Stone said her client intended to fight the allegations.

She asked the court for a hearing date later this year, to allow discussions to continue.

Magistrate Doug Dick did not oppose the request, setting Gibson’s hearing for November 14 in the same court.

The hearing is expected to last a number of hours.
