Mark Ladmore: Long Beach man charged with having sexual intercourse with child

A south coast man who allegedly had sex with, assaulted and groomed a child across a three-year period has fronted court.

Mark Ladmore was charged with having sexual relations with a child older than 10, but younger than 14. He faced Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday.

Mark Ladmore, 43, of Long Beach, faced Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday on charges of having sexual intercourse with a child, intentionally sexually touch a child, groom a child for unlawful sexual activity, as well as three counts of assaulting a child and two counts of posses child abuse material.

Ladmore is yet to enter a plea to any of the charges.

Police documents tendered to the court state Ladmore allegedly committed the sexual acts on the child between October 2020 and April this year.

It is alleged, on various occasions, Ladmore had sex with, assaulted, groomed and sexually touched the child. He was arrested on April 23.

Police also allege Ladmore was in possession of child abuse material on two separate occasions, once in late 2021 and again in early 2022.

Ladmore’s lawyer Edward Neaves asked Magistrate Michael O’Brien to adjourn the serious matter for a month for the charges to be certified.

Mr O’Brien did not oppose the suggestion, however, but warned there was no guarantee the charges would be certified on that day.

Director of Public Prosecutions representative Angela Tasevski also did not oppose the adjournment.

The matter will return to Batemans Bay Local Court on August 14. Ladmore’s bail was also ruled to continue.
