Police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually touched himself at a south coast railway station before boarding a train.

NSW Police are seeking public assistance following an alleged sexual act which occurred at a south coast railway station two months ago.

A man attempted to board a Bomaderry-bound train at the Kiama train station at 11:40am on April 24 when when passengers alerted staff the man was allegedly touching himself.

Staff promptly removed the man from the train and escorted him from the railway station.

The incident was reported to police and officers attached to the Police Transport Command began investigating.

Police have released images of a man who might be able to assist police with inquiries.

The man is described as aged in his late 20s-early 30s, medium build, with dark hair. He was wearing a black hooded Everlast jumper and long black pants at the time of the incident.
