A young woman has faced court charged with allegedly assaulting two police officers and a paramedic on the NSW south coast.

Lara Whykes, 20, faced Nowra Local Court on Tuesday, charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer in the execution of their duty, two counts of hinder or resist arrest and one count of assaulting a frontline worker.

The Cudmirrah woman is yet to enter pleas.

Police allege Whykes assaulted two police officers and a paramedic, as well as resisting arrest, in the early hours of April 20 this year at Sanctuary Point.

Documents tendered to the court state the 20-year-old allegedly assaulted the two male police officers while they responded to a situation in the coastal suburb.

However, following the alleged assaults, Whykes was finally restrained by the officers and arrested.

She was taken to the Bay and Basin police station, where she was issued a court attendance notice.

In Nowra Local Court on Tuesday, Whykes’ lawyer Robert Foster said his client would enter pleas at the next occasion, however, an adjournment was needed for final discussions.

While he could not confirm what pleas would be officially entered, Mr Foster indicated pleas of not guilty were possible.

He said the court would need to be prepared to confirm a hearing date at the next occasion, if not guilty pleas were entered.

Magistrate Clare Farnan said she would allow a lengthy adjournment of six weeks for the final discussions to take place, given the seriousness of the allegations.

Whykes will return to the Nowra Local Court on September 3, where she is expected to enter pleas.
