A young hospitality worker accused of stabbing her lover during a three-hour dispute allegedly tried to stop him from testifying by making more than 50 calls from behind bars.

A young hospitality worker accused of stabbing her lover during a three-hour dispute allegedly tried to stop him from testifying by making more than 50 calls from behind bars.
Kara Howarth, 24, was charged in September last year after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend during a lengthy dispute in Nowra.
Police attended Kinghorne St around 10pm on September 12, finding the 25-year-old man with stab wounds.
He was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital with lacerations to an arm and a leg, as well as cuts to his head, while officers arrested Howarth and charged her with reckless wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and wounding with intent.
She is yet to enter pleas.
Howarth fronted Nowra Local Court on Tuesday via custody, facing fresh charges for alleged offences committed behind bars at John Morony Correctional Complex in Berkshire Park.
Court documents state between September 25 and October 15 last year, Howarth allegedly used a prison phone to call her boyfriend – the alleged victim Jarrod Harrington – 51 times.
Police also allege she tried convince him not to testify and, if forced to appear, to give false evidence.
Investigators reviewed the alleged calls, which also breached domestic violence protection orders against her partner.
Howarth was rearrested in jail and charged with acting with intent to influence a witness and contravening an apprehended domestic violence order.
She is also yet to enter pleas to the new charges.
Magistrate Lisa Viney adjourned the case to February 21.
