A young south coast hospitality worker allegedly stabbed her boyfriend during an incident spanning more than three hours on the NSW south coast.
According to NSW Police, emergency services were called to an address on Kinghorne St, Nowra, about 10pm on Thursday following reports of a stabbing.
Officers arrived to find 25-year-old Jarrod Harrington with stab wounds allegedly inflicted by his girlfriend, Kara Howarth.
Mr Harrington was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital in a stable condition with lacerations to an arm and a leg, as well as cuts to his head.
Police established a crime scene before arresting Howarth and charging the 24-year-old with wounding a person with he intent to cause grievous bodily harm, reckless wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Howarth, who court documents state has resided in Culburra Beach, Nowra and Bellambi in the past 12 months, was refused police bail with the matter listed in Nowra Local Court on Friday.
The woman, who was represented in court by lawyer Stephanie Fowler, did not appear from custody via audiovisual link to apply for bail which she was formally refused by Magistrate Gabriel Fleming.
Court documents state the alleged incident unfolded between 7pm and 10.15pm. The documents also detailed how Howarth had been on bail for breaching an intensive correction and community release orders for unrelated offending.
Howarth will remain behind bars on remand ahead of her return to court in November.
This publication contacted Shoalhaven Hospital on Wednesday who confirmed Mr Harrington had been discharged.
