Eden Antiques Collectables and Old Wares robbed of $100k worth of jewellery

A south coast antique shop has been hit by a jewellery thief over the long weekend, who stole $100,000 worth of product.

An antique shop owned by a south coast business chamber president has been hit by a jewellery thief who allegedly stole $100,000 worth of product over the weekend.

Police are now appealing for information following the break-in at Eden Antiques, Collectables and Old Wares.

Unknown persons broke into the Imlay St business sometime between 4pm on Friday and 9am on Saturday.

Once inside, they allegedly smashed glass cabinets and stole 220 gold and silver rings, several pendants, bracelets, earrings and brooches.

The jewellery is both contemporary and antique, and is easily identifiable.

Eden Business Chamber President Eric Wolske is the owner of the store which was robbed.

Mr Wolske said he was leaving the situation in the hands of the police.

“The police are dealing with it as best they can,” he said.

“They have CCTV footage of the robbery and are working away at it.”

Mr Wolske refused to comment further.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District have commenced an investigation into the robbery.

As part of inquiries, police have released images of the stolen items, in the hope someone recognises them.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information – including nearby stores with CCTV – is urged to call Eden Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
