South Coast police allege a driver charged in a police pursuit through Bomaderry and North Nowra accelerated towards them after entering a dead-end street, ramming their police vehicle.
Officers began their pursuit of the Holden Rodeo ute sometime around 1.15am on Thursday morning after the driver allegedly failed to stop when directed for a random breath test in Bomaderry.
Police pursued the vehicle through the busy riverside area before it entered onto Wingello Close, a dead-end suburban street nearby to North Nowra Tavern and the vet hospital.
The female driver, 33, is then alleged to have driven towards the police vehicle, ramming it, before she and two male passengers aged 30 and 31 fled on foot. All three were arrested a short time later.
The female driver was taken to Nowra Police Station where she was charged with a police pursuit, driving dangerously, driving while a licence application has been refused, use of an offensive weapon to avoid lawful detention, and breach of bail.
The older man was also arrested and charged over an outstanding warrant for alleged domestic violence offences, while the younger man was released without charge.
The man and woman were both refused bail to appear in Nowra Local Court the same day.
The driver of the police vehicle suffered suspected bruising when struck but has not sought further treatment.
