Todd Woods: Former East Maitland tennis coach charged with indecent assault of girl he trained

Well-known Maitland tennis coach Todd Woods, is set to make his first court appearance on Wednesday following a three-year investigation by Hunter Valley detectives. Police will allege he indecently assaulted a girl he trained.

Former Hunter tennis coach Todd Ramsey Woods repeatedly indecently assaulted a young girl over four years in the East Maitland area, police will allege.

Mr Woods, 57, is set to make his first court appearance on Wednesday following a three-year investigation by Hunter Valley detectives.

The well-known sports coach, who now bases himself in Sydney, was issued a court attendance notice on July 30.

He will face charges in Maitland Local Court including three counts of incite aggravated indecency victim under 16 and under authority; two counts of incite aggravated indecency victim over 16 and under authority; and one count of indecent assault.

A police statement said detectives would allege that Mr Woods “indecently assaulted a girl he was coaching – aged between 13 and 17 at the time – on multiple occasions in the East Maitland and Hunter region’’.

The offences are alleged to have occurred in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
