A young woman charged with the stabbing murder of Medowie man Jason Adams at Raymond Terrace has been refused bail.
Lily Ridgeway, 21, was arrested at a mid-north coast motel early yesterday, almost two days after she allegedly killed Mr Adams on a Raymond Terrace street.
Police will allege Mr Adams had returned to a house where he had been bailed to reside at when an altercation occurred on Payton St.
The 27-year-old stumbled about 30 metres before collapsing on the road at the intersection of Payton and Watt streets about 5.30am on Saturday.
Mr Adams, who had recently been granted bail on traffic matters, died at the scene from blood loss after allegedly being stabbed on the side of the torso.
Ridgeway, who is originally from Taree, was arrested at North Haven about 12.30am yesterday.
She was interviewed and charged by Port Stephens detectives last night.
Ridgeway briefly faced Port Macquarie Local Court today charged with murder.
She did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
She will appear in Newcastle Local Court on April 29.
