A Hunter man has been kept behind bars after he sprayed his ex-partner with hurtful and horrific text messages of hate, telling her he would never shut his eyes until he got revenge.

Police facts said the father of two from Elermore Vale continually harassed and wanted control over the relationship and had not moved on from the separation.

“You stupid dirty sl*t. I see what you’re doing looking good putting makeup on to go out for the day,” he said according to police facts.

“Well let me tell you something sl*t, you never ever did this when we were together, so I wonder what is really going on and I am going to find out if you like it or not.”

On February 29, Mr Vrtkovski made in excess of 30 phone calls to his ex-partner, demanding she speak to him and when she didn’t reply, he sent back frightening threats.

“I am never going to shut my eyes until I get revenge, and get it through your dumb head, as you are worth nothing, and your life is going to change for the worst,” he said.

“You will definitely pay the ultimate price for the hell that you have put me through in the last three years and like I said your life is at risk.

“I will never give up until you are punished for life.”

At 4.30pm that afternoon she came home to find Mr Vrtkovski in her driveway before she immediately contacted police.

While at Cessnock Police Station she received another voice message from him — which police listened to — saying, “I am still here slut. I am at the back of your house and there is a mattock here and I am going to pick it up and start smashing up your place if you don’t get here in five minutes.”

Police escorted her home where they found Mr Vrtkovski waiting — he had broken in and smashed up her TV and ceiling lights in her bedroom, and thrown clothing and property all over the home.

Mr Vrtkovski was arrested and charged with break and enter; use carriage service to menace/harass/offend and use carriage service to threaten serious harm.

In a later interview with police he admitted it was possible he would have harmed her if she had returned home and also said he suffered from anxiety and depression and just wanted his family back.

In Newcastle Local Court on Monday, Mr Vrtkovski’s pleaded guilty to all charges.

His solicitor Daniel Lewis made a bail application citing medical reasons, that his client had recently been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and had anxiety and depression.

He also offered up strict conditional bail which included daily reporting to police, a curfew and home detention.

But the prosecutor was adamant “there was nothing that could protect the victim from the accused”.

The court also heard of a previous conviction for domestic violence assault.

Magistrate David Price agreed Mr Vrtkovski was an “unacceptable risk” and denied bail.

His matter will again be heard on Thursday.
