Former Knights star Jarrod Mullen has pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine in Newcastle Local Court.

The former Newcastle playmaker was arrested at Tarrawanna, near Wollongong, on May 29 by detectives investigating an alleged drug syndicate operating across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to one charge of drug supply, with another three being dropped by the prosecution.

Mullen will be sentenced in Wollongong Court on February 26 next year.

Magistrate David Price granted an appeal by Mullen’s defence as he now lives in Illawarra.

Mullen played 211 NRL games for the Knights after making his debut as a teenager and also represented NSW in State of Origin.

Mullen, serving a four-year ban from rugby league after testing positive for steroids in 2017, is the eighth person to be charged over the alleged ring.

Two other counts of supplying cocaine and one count of supplying a trafficable quantity of a prohibited drug were last month withdrawn.
