Footage has emerged on social media of a violent brawl that broke out in Maitland’s CBD, as a local pub closed down for the night.
Police were called to High St, outside the Belmore Hotel, just before 3am Sunday morning, after a mob of people starting fighting.
Footage shows people screaming and throwing punches and people wrestling on the ground.
Security guards from the hotel are also shown trying to intervene and break it up as the brawl starts to escalate.
It happened after the Hotel had called last drinks for the night and was within half an hour of closing.
Maitland police are making inquiries into the fight but as no victims have come forward it will be hard for police to take any action.
Inspector Rob Post said on Monday morning no arrests had yet been made following the incident.
He said when police arrived the crowd had moved on and fighting had stopped.
Anyone with information should contact Maitland police.
