Joseph Green accused of setting house, car and motorbike on fire at Warners Bay

A man will front court after being charged with setting a house, car and motorcycle alight at Warners Bay.

Joseph Green, 47, will face Belmont Local Court on Tuesday after being charged with damaging property valued at more than $15,000 by fire or an explosive.

Emergency services were called to a Margaret St home following reports of a house fire on Monday about 11pm.

Fire and Rescue NSW found a house, SUV and motorcycle on fire and tried to extinguish the blaze but the property was ultimately destroyed.

The house was unoccupied and nobody was injured.

Officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District established a crime scene and began investigating the incident.

Green was arrested at a service station on Lake Rd, Argenton and taken to Belmont Police Station where he was charged with the domestic violence-related offences and refused bail.
