Hunter Valley detectives have released the footage, taken from a nearby security camera, of a suspect creeping up to the front of a Muswellbrook home before launching a molotov cocktail.
The firebombing, which occurred about 4am on November 6, prompted emergency services to rush to Tamar Way following reports of a blaze.
“At the scene, police were told the occupants of the home heard glass shatter outside before seeing flames through the front windows,” a police statement said.
“It was soon established a Molotov cocktail had been thrown at the home.”
“The residents extinguished the fire with the assistance of a neighbour, with one resident sustaining minor burns to their shoulder and back.”
Hunter Valley detectives commenced an investigation with items seized and sent away for further forensic examination.
As investigations continue, detectives have released CCTV footage of a person, who they believe can assist with their inquiries.
