Wiley Park man Nasir Uddin pleads not guilty to negligent driving causing death of Ismail Hossain

An international student accused of killing his friend in a car crash outside their southwest Sydney sharehouse is set to fight the charge.

An international student accused of killing his friend in a car crash outside their southwest Sydney sharehouse is set to fight the charge.

Wiley Park man Nasir Uddin, 24, has pleaded not guilty in Bankstown Local Court to a charge of negligent driving occasioning death.

Uddin was arrested at the scene of the incident in the early hours of October 7, when emergency services rushed to a home on Cornelia St following reports an out-of-control car had crashed into a house.

Police allege Uddin lost control of his blue Toyota Corolla while trying to park it beside a car belonging to his friend and housemate, Ismail Hossain.

He allegedly struck Mr Hossain, who died at the scene, after hitting the accelerator instead of the brakes.

Court documents state Mr Hossain had parked his red Toyota Camry in the front yard and was walking towards the house when he was hit.

“The momentum of the (Corolla) has pushed the deceased into the corner wall of the residence, pinning him (and) causing major head injury,’’ police allege in court documents.

Uddin was charged at Campsie Police Station following his arrest, before being granted bail in Parramatta Bail Court.

He was excused from appearing in Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday, when his case was adjourned until next Tuesday.
